The dictionary defines Siddhar as a divine human being of great purity and holiness, said to be particularly characterized by eight super natural powers or the ashta maha siddhis. The Siddha Purusha was one who had gone beyond the physical to spiritual realms, where conquering the senses he had attained union with the one God. The senses conquered, the Siddhar turned his body into a channel for spiritual attainment. All powers were channelised into reaching the highest state of realization. As defined in the chapter on Sri Vidya, the Kundalini was awakened to attain enlightenment.
The Siddhar saw his body as a temple, the Atman was God. These masters go beyond the physical to realms divine using the same sense organs that are used by ordinary man to satiate physical pleasures. By awakening the divine potential within them the Siddha Purusha attained exceptional powers called asta maha siddhi. These powers were used to benefit humanity and mankind, never for mere personal gain. Indeed the Siddha Purusha was one who had gone beyond the personal to regions that were universal.
How does one identify a genuine Siddhar from the innumerable self-styled mystics of today? For one, the genuine sage of enlightenment was a master of realization one who utilized his infinite powers for the well being of mankind. The flaunting of limited siddhis, materializing various objects to attract attention or mesmerizing devotees were not for them. The genuine masters were concerned about the economic and even more, spiritual well-being of the distraught souls who appealed to them for salvation. Exploitation was never their style; indeed they were in many ways divinity personified and reflective of their philosophy that the body was indeed a shrine for the divine. They had gone beyond the physical infirmities common to man, old age, sickness, mental aberrations, etc. Most of them treated the body as merely a tool for enlightenment; some of them had even completely transformed the physical body into light. The extent of their knowledge covered all areas of human thought, the past, present and future, with their divine powers nothing was hidden from them.
The Sathguru had instructed that as part of the project, shrines for 18 Siddha Purushas be constructed at the Sakthi Peeta Brindavanam. They as indicated by the Sathguru, during his divine guidance have incarnated at the Sakthi Peeta Brindavanam for the benefit of human kind. Guided by the greatest Siddhar, Sri Seshadri Swamigal, the 18 masters have come to life at the Sakthi Peeta Brindavanam. The brief life stories of the 18 Siddhars are given below.
1. SRI SIVAVAKIYAR SIDDHAR
2. SRI KAYILAY KAMBILISATTAMUNI SIDDHAR
FEEL SADDENED TO SEE VALLALAR IN THIS LIST OF SIDDHARS.SORRY IF IM WRONG. I FEEL VALLALARS TEACHINGS ARE BEYOND WHAT THE REGULAR SIDDHARS HAVE EXPERIENCED.NONE OF THEM HAVE SEEN ARUTPERUMJOTHI.
There is difference between samadhi and oli udal.
Vallalar got the "oli udal".
Its said that THIRUGNANA SAMBANDHAR also got the "oli udal" .
Even siddhars also worship the god as the jothi.
In siddhars songs every siddhar mention the god in the form of Jothi
not only vallalar.
Our vallalar gave us the all the siddhar song essence into one as Thiruarutpa.
So One who clearly understand Thiruarutpa can learn the universal wisdom.
Till now there is lot of information are exhaust about siddhars from
different writers.
As per knowledge there is no wrong in mentioning Vallalar in the siddhar list.
As per our knowledge we knew that vallalar got "oli udal" in recently.
