Hey Everyone,

This is an old commit message that was sent by GitHub as a test.  I was thinking of configuring the GitHub repo to send a message similar to this every time I push commits to the repo. This would allow people on this list to keep abreast of any and all changes being made to the develop branch.

Are you folks in favour of this idea?  Or would you rather not have to receive those emails and would prefer to keep abreast of changes yourself by watching the repo via GitHub?

Please let me know,
Bob

I'm happy to get these, I'll probably glance at them, but sometimes it
would be useful to know when there are updates to pull in.

I'd rather actively sign up for repository changes--that way it's up to me whether I want them or not. I could just see how if there's suddenly a surge of development and check-ins, that getting a ton of automatic e-mails could be seen as annoying.

I might be wrong but I don't think that github allows you to subscribe
to email alerts. Would be cool if you could.

That is why I asked. The only thing to be aware of is that I do not think it's possible to sign up for email changes via GitHub. You can subscribe to a feed, or you can simply visit GitHub to see recent updates, but if people want to receive updates via email I think this is the only way.

Having said that, why don't I just create a new list just for those who want to receive updates? That would work, wouldn't it?

I'll go do that now and let you know the name of the list once it's done.

Cheers,
Bob

Ok, if you are interested in receiving email updates whenever changes are pushed to the ValidateThis GitHub repo, please subscribe to http://groups.google.com/group/validatethis-updates.  Updates will no longer be sent to this (validatethis-dev) group.

Cheers,
Bob
