As you may have noticed, a contractor has been doing some landscaping work in the community. I wanted to let everyone know that the Board has been working on a landscaping program for the community, designed to replace trees planted by the developer which have either died or have been damaged. Our Landscaping Contractor, "The Landscape Renovator" will be working in the community for the next few weeks.
Some of the work includes screening with Leyland Cypress evergreens along the church playground and behind the house belonging to the church. Our landscaper also pointed out that the three Maple trees behind the three homes which backup to Vale Road, would become an issue with the overhead wires when they matured. As a result, we have relocated them to the area behind the benches on the walkpath to provide ahade in that area. Leylands are to be planted in the areas where the Maples were removed, which will help provide both a visual and sound screen from the traffic on Vale Road but will not pose a problem with the overhead wires. The locations for the Leylands in both of these areas are marked with pink flags.
A Weeping Cherry Tree has been planted in the center of the small circle on Sylview Ct. Additional more colorful shrubs will be planted in the circle walkpath and the beds along Tuscany replacing both e dead and less desirable plantings. Plans call for relocating some existing shrubs to locations which are more appropriate for their mature sizes and to reduce maintenance.
After this initial planting is completed a new "VALE WOODS" entrance sign on a stone monument is planned for the elevated landscape bed at the corner of Vale Road and Tuscany Lane. Additional landscaping with more colorful and appropriate shrubs are to be planted in this bed along with more colorful trees in the other beds to enhance the visual effect when entering the community.
We will be working with the contractor prior to Spring to develop plans for the planting of Annual an Perrenial flowering plants in the common area beds along with developing budgets for further landscaping improvements throughout the community.
If you have any questions please email me.
Thanks!
