GET TOPIC

{"DueDate":null,"TopicType":3,"Url":"/d2l/common/dialogs/quickLink/quickLink.d2l?ou=8507&type=discuss&rCode=Aspen-262","StartDate":"2014-07-15T00:00:00.000Z","EndDate":null,"IsHidden":false,"IsLocked":false,"Id":84159,"Title":"/d2l/common/dialogs/quickLink/quickLink.d2l?ou={orgUnitId}&type=discuss&rCode=Aspen-262","ShortTitle":"","Type":1}

In the LE, the Title of this topic is "Module 1: Real-World Event Discussion".

We get the same result with GET TOPIC for Dropbox (type=dropbox) or Quiz (type=quiz)

This become problematic when we try to update the properties of topics through Valence

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Timothy

Sorry for the delay in responding. I was looking into this question with some internal folks here at D2L. They've confirmed that if content nodes are quicklinks to other types of content (in the example you provided it appears to be discussion based on type=discuss), the title returned is the URL.

I recommend that you have your Approved Support Contact get in touch with D2L Support to file this issue as a defect. That way, it can be prioritized by our Development Organization to validate the original use case that led to this behavior, and the use case you're providing, with an eye to a possible fix for the behavior. If your organization logs this defect, there will be a communication path for discovering the outcome of those investigations and the resolution.
