Google Apps Linking Feature rqeuest

WMU has recently engaged in a project involving provisioning our users into Google for Education.  We are currently linking those accounts to their WMU account using a batch process through D2L.  Can Valence be used to automatically link new users to their google account?  This would be a tremendous help in keeping our user accounts in sync.

Can you provide a bit more context? What data are you using to create the link between the Google account and the account in your LMS? Is this a feature of the user's profile? A custom field of some kind? Understanding the mechanism you're using to create that link will help to determine if it's possible to access that data via Valence.

Currently, we create a csv containing the following

CREATE LINK

This action links an existing Google Apps account to an organization username. 

The result appears in the list of accounts on the Google Apps Administration page. 

The format of this action is:


CREATE LINK, *OrgId, *OrganizationUsername, *GoogleAppsUsername

This is a feature of the LMS.  When the file is imported, a record is inserted into the IM_USER_MAPPINGS table.

Having Valence to make this link would be of great value to this process.

I see what you're doing now. We don't have any APIs that access the GoogleAppsUsername or can generate that Hash. To log this as a feature request, you can post this suggestion in the Product Ideas Exchange. If you don't have an account for that site, and Approved Support Contact in your organization should have one or can request one.
