Just got this from Tom Boyhan’s wife.

Tom was a SEAL that worked with us Black Ponies, and even rode in one of our aircraft,
while talking to his troops on the ground. Those of you who were at the 2019 Reunion in
Pensacola may recall me reading a letter that he had sent to all of us, thanking and praising us.
The praise should go to Tom and his SEAL’s for their grit and heroism down in the mud.
Tom, as the officer-in-charge of his team, always made sure that he took care of his enlisted
troops prior to taking care of himself.

Not only was Tom my Naval Academy classmate, but also my high school classmate from
Upstate NY. I will be sending a letter and encourage any of you, who knew Tom, to do likewise.

Hello Friends of Tom Boyhan,

Tom is well, this is his wife Janet asking a favor of you.

This April 25-29, Tom will be participating in a Honor Flight for SEAL Team Veterans, from San Diego to WA DC.  During the return flight, the flight organizers will deliver letters of appreciation to each participant.  These Welcome Home Mail Call letters are recognized as the most valued part of the honor flight experience because they are the most personal and therefore the most appreciated by the participant - Tom.

I am appealing to each of you who are close to his heart -  his most remembered brothers in arms, academy classmates, family and great friends.  Is there something about Tom you’d like to remember or never got around to saying?

Your message can be as brief or as long as you wish.  There are no guidelines other than sharing your reflections of what Tom has meant to you in your life as only you have known him.  No one will read your message other than Tom.  Your mail goes into Tom’s flight envelope for his return flight home and will be a complete surprise to him.  Honor Flight participants are not aware of these gifts.

The deadline to receive your thoughts is April 18.  Here’s what needs to be done.

1.  Write your message, in any form you are comfortable with, handwritten, photo, art, etc.

2.  Write TOM BOYHAN on the outside of your envelope

3.  Mail your message to -
Saundra Cima
2909 Candil Place
Carlsbad, CA 92009

-OR - IF you run out of time -

4.  Please let me know you will be sending a letter for Tom:
Janet Boyhan - bookbi...@gmail.com
I will appreciate your acknowledgment but do not send me your letter.

Thank you for your support and participation in Tom’s behalf. Your message will mean so much
to him.

With great appreciation for your time and effort,

Janet
