Plankowner Lt. Cdr. John Butterfield lost his battle with living on February 19, 2025 in Richland, Washington. 

I talked to Priscilla and his daughter Molly today. Obituary is in the works. Funeral will be in Richland, WA on March 15. It is going to be live streamed and available on line afterwards - when I get the details I will pass them on. 

When Skipper Winans passed, John read an eulogy Skipper Schuman wrote. If you any of you who knew John better than I did have better writing ability than I do - which isn't much; I would appreciate help coming up with something for me to share from the Black Ponies at John's funeral. Thanks in advance.
