Our Bonaire physical therapists are highly-trained medical professionals who understand both the capabilities and limitations of your body. In fact, you may notice relief and/or improvement after just one session of manual therapy!

When you participate in physical therapy massage treatments, they may seem a little different than those you might receive at a spa. Physical therapy massages are meant to be more therapeutic in nature, rather than relaxing. Our Bonaire physical therapists use massage treatments as a way to manipulate the soft tissues, in order to break up any scar tissue or adhesions in the affected body part. This is done through deep pressure and rhythmic stretching, allowing the physical therapist to find and mobilize areas of your body that are heavily restricted.

When our physical therapists perform manual traction, they will apply a gentle force to a certain area of the body, in order to stretch it out. The neck is the most common part of the body to receive manual traction treatments; however, it is possible that your physical therapist may recommend manual traction on other parts of the body as well. To treat neck pain with manual traction, your physical therapist will have you lie down on your back, and then they will gently take the base of your skull in one hand and your chin in the other, in order to stretch the spaces between your vertebrae. This is typically done for 5-10 seconds at a time.

Your treatment plan will likely include several different therapies, all aimed at helping a specific function of your body. Some exercises may focus on increasing your range of motion, while others may focus on improving your balance and strength. Manual therapy is a crucial part of a recovery plan, as it helps to minimize inflammation, reduce pain and swelling, and increase your range of motion. If you are interested in learning more about the many benefits of manual therapy, contact Pinnacle Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine today at Bonaire, GA! Our dedicated physical therapist will be happy to meet with you to get you moving once again.

Voted \u201CBest Physical Therapist of 2018\u201D, we are back and spine care physical therapy experts offering natural, long-term pain relief from common issues such as low back pain, shoulder injuries, neck pain, knee pain and hip pain through a regimen of stretches, exercises, and manual therapy.

Joint pain, tightness, and stiffness can interfere with your day, making it difficult to perform your normal tasks. This pain can affect any joint, especially your shoulder, back, knee, and hip. Fortunately, manual therapy can help.

Your physical therapist at Pinnacle Performance Physical Therapy will create a treatment plan that will include a variety of techniques, including joint manipulation and mobilization and soft tissue mobilization. The care plan will also accommodate your response to treatment as you progress through the plan.

This technique involves the application of force to your joint to improve its function. The force may be gentle, oscillating, or sudden - it all depends on the severity of your condition and the technique your physical therapist uses.

This technique involves applying gentle pressure to your myofascial tissues, the tough coverings that connect and support your body's muscles. This treatment relieves tension and pain to improve your mobility.

When a wound heals, it can form scars. Your physical therapist can use scar mobilization techniques to improve the quality and flexibility of the scar. This technique prevents the scar from becoming hard and sticking to your tissues and bones.

Manual therapy is a hands-on technique that can help relieve pain and improve the range of motion in your tissues. However, this treatment requires skill and patience. Fortunately, your physical therapist at Pinnacle Performance Physical Therapy is skilled in performing manual therapy. They will examine your condition and create a tailored treatment plan. The treatment is also progressive; they will adjust the plan when necessary.

The most common manual therapy techniques include joint and soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, trigger point release, and massage. Your physical therapist may also recommend scar mobilization and stretching exercises.

Physical therapy is a broad treatment for identifying, managing, and treating the symptoms of a disease. Your physical therapist will recommend a technique to address your condition. Manual therapy, on the other hand, is a specialty in physical therapy. This treatment focuses on your biomechanics and tissue to relieve pain and improve your range of motion.
