Hi All,

I'm looking for a web product that I can use to create/destroy vagrant boxes from a central server, that way anyone in my group can manage these boxes and not just the person who created the box from their desktop. I'm sure such an app must exist but when I google for it I get a ton of hits on people dealing with web servers on the vagrant-built machine, i.e. its hard to search for as the terms are so broad.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello,

What provisioner are you using that someone can create a vm from the desktop on a remote server?

Good point, I should have mentioned that, I'm using SoftLayer (think AWS).

Thanks.

Really? None exist? Wow. I just completely assumed someone had written something like this already given the popularity of Vagrant and AWS for example. Hmm... I guess I'll have to slap something ugly together myself in my "spare time".

Yes but I want to provision new ones using the scripts I've developed for Vagrant. Plus I want others in the team to do the same, and even destroy/rebuild ones that were originally created by me. Obviously they can't do that today because the .vagrant folder is on my HD :-)

Make sense? Maybe I need to forget about vagrant and use Foreman or similar but my team also uses the same scripts to build a local VirtualBox-based VM using Vagrant so maybe Foreman and Vagrant can share one set of scripts. BTW don't hate me but right now most of these scripts are shell scripts.

Thanks,

Paul
