New to vagrant - lots of questions (many stupid i am sure)

i have used virtual machines in the past but never vagrant.  

i recently downloaded a vagrant file and started the vm using vagrant up.  the vm is running in virtualbox.

now, i want to modify the network settings, can i do that directly in virtualbox or should i modify the vagrant config files?  what are the advantages of the latter?

and once i get this vm setup how i want, i want to replicate it, how do i do that?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can do this directly with your Vagrantfile:

Placing your network setup in a Vagrantfile helps your future self (and/or others) replicate these settings on your guest without having to redo all of the manual labor of setting these up manually through VirtualBox.
