I'm new to Vagant. Is it possible to configure thin provisioning when using public boxes so it doesn't use my entire disk space. I have NVME M.2 and i want to create a lot of boxes without using disk space. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Raj

Hi Raj,

using "linked clones" is probably what you are looking for.

I have this enabled for all my boxes via the global Vagrantfile:

$ cat ~/.vagrant.d/Vagrantfile
Vagrant.configure("2") do |config|

  # always use linked clones
  config.vm.provider "virtualbox" do |v|
    v.linked_clone = true
  end
  config.vm.provider "vmware_fusion" do |v|
    v.linked_clone = true
  end
end

Cheers,
 Torben
