Parallels vs VirtualBox?

I'm just getting started with vagrant and i'm considering purchasing parallels. As far as vagrant is concerned is parallels a waist of money? Is most of the momentum towards virtual box so vm variety will be less or is it about equal? Anything else i should know?

if its just for vagrant, dont bother. almost all vagrant boxes and vagrant files are made for virtualbox.

if you plan is use what someone else has done, Virtualbox is quite easy to start.

if you feel confortable creating your own boxes, then it shouldn’t mater if there are boxes or not.

And from there, choose what hypervisor give you the best value for money and you enjoy using daily.
