Hi,

I'm attempting to extract a box into Windows7 and finding that running
'vagrant up' is extremely slow at the 'importing base box' stage... so
far about 30mins and ongoing...

Has anyone else experienced this? Any work around?

Thanks,
Richard

I had this problem on a windows XP box, but not on a windows 7 box. It ultimately completed after running for several hours at 100% CPU. See <https://github.com/mitchellh/vagrant/issues/872> for more info, but not for a resolution :(

After about two hours the I found that the importing stage of
'vagrant up' completed with the .vmdk file growing to over 2GB. I'm
now trying
to open the vmdk file originally created on Linux (copied to Windows
7
replacing the former 2GB vmdk) .... not sure if this will work, but
trying as a work around.
