Partridge General (Family?) Store

Back around 1735 - 1738, the Partridge General (or Family) Store was operating in the Virginia frontier. There are transactions by and for John, Samuel and Benjamin Denny.  I am trying to trace the migratory routes of this family up until they settled in area of North Carolina just south of the Virginia border.  Does anyone have any information as to the general site of the Partridge Store.  I suspect it was near the headwaters of the James River, perhaps as far west as near the Great Wagon Road.  Any hints as to its probable location would be very welcome.
