Hello All,
This is a reminder, if you have not already done, please submit your nominations for our first annual VACIT Awards Reception to be held on Sunday, September 11th at the 2nd Annual International CIT Conference in Virginia Beach.
To date we have only received 3 nominations and I know there are more out there. This is our time to recognize those individuals who have made Virginia CIT a nationally and internationally recognized program. Approximately 69% of the Commonwealth is actively participating in CIT and through the end of May, Virginia CIT programs collectively have trained 2,736 law enforcement officers and have completed 120 40hr trainings. That is the equivalent of 4,800 hours of Crisis Intervention Training provided by 432 certified CIT instructors. What an amazing accomplishment.
Nominations are due by 5pm this Friday (July 22nd). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I am attaching the award categories and qualifications again.
