Vachanamrut Gadhada I-40: Savikalp-Nirvikalp Sthitivalanu

Date: Maha sudi 3, Samvat 1876
Place: Dada Khachar's Darbar
Clothing: White khes, white page, a thick withe cotton cloth, and
tassels of flowers on His Pagh, and a garland.
Audience: Munis and Devotees from Various places.

Maharaj asked a question to a Vedanti Brahmin: You claim that only
Bhrama exists, and everything else is illusory. I will ask you a
question, and you have to answer it from the scriptures.

Vedanti attempted to answer Maharaj's question but was not able to.

Maharaj said: There are two types of muktas.first have attained
savikalp samadhi and see all the entities different form each other,
the other type of mukta is the one who ahas attained nivikalp samadhi,
but they do not see all the entities different from each other,
because of this everything is viewed as satya and asatya. Muktas who
have attained savikalp samadhi describe the entities as satya. Those
who have attained nirvikalp samadhi say that the entities do not
exist. In reality they are asatya. It is asatya to consider that no
entities exist. If one does they will go to narak.
Maharaj asked Vedanti Bhrahmin: If any doubts arise please say so.

Vedanti Bhramin said: You are God and you are correct. Your
explanation is precise. You are God and there is no doubt at all.

Application: We should have no doubt that all the entities exist.

samdhi?

Maharaj replied: A person with no impure desires, but has pure desires
is said to be in savikalp samdhi, and a person who realizes that they
have attained Aksharbrahma, and is engrossed in God's form, then that
person has Nirvikalp samadhi.

Muktanand Swami asked: What is the difference between bhakti and
upasana?

Maharaj said: To worship God in the nine different types of ways is
bhakti. Upasana is have firm faith that God has a form, and no matter
what any shatra says, one should believe that God has a form. One who
understands that God has a form possess upasana.
