I have been seeing this prompt for all my years of experience with VAST.

FileSizeWarning.png

It made sense when we had 50 MHz computers. But perhaps it is time to bump up the threshold?
Since arbitrary numeric limits always become problematic, a setting initialized to e.g. SmallInteger largest would be the way to go.

Hi Richard,
late, but not too, late, I hope.
Ancient. To support flexible limits the treshhold was made flexible, 1996 (29 years ago at least) this was provided, run

EtWorkspace fileSizeConfirmThreshold: SmallInteger largest

(or any other integer limit) to fullfill your wish.

Save the image if you want to keep the new limit.

Kind regards
M

Thanks, Marcus!
(Sometimes, I am the least curious person I know.)

Hi,

I started with VisualAge for Smalltalk Version 1.0 and before that with evaluation the Beta in 1994 as I and another guy worked as externals for IBM in Ehningen near Stuttgart. Only show apps were developed, because IBM Europe decided to use SAP instead of inhouse programs. I stopped working in december 2024, so I got 30 years too ;o)
VASmalltalk was not the only one. I did it 6 years with VisualWorks und 8 months with ObjectStudio (Crap ).

Nowadays I'm in C, not C++. I tested my rusted skills.. and.. sometimes it works. I'm a little bit too lazy for looking even into this forum.

1997 and 1998 I did multimedia and CBT software with VisualAge for Smalltalk 3.0 and 4.2. It was for my own and noot really a big success.

Kind regards

Klaus
