VA Lighthouse Veteran Confirmation API

Dear Prospective API Consumer:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is proud to announce that the Veteran Confirmation API is now live in production!
The Veteran Confirmation API allows you to confirm Veteran status for a given person. This can be useful for offering Veterans discounts or other benefits.
The required fields are:
• first name• last name
• date of birth
• SSN
The API documentation can be found here: https://developer.va.gov/explore/verification/docs/veteran_confirmation
To receive an API key for the dev environment immediately, please visit: https://developer.va.gov/apply and check the box for "VA Veteran Confirmation API".
In this environment, use attributes from the list of Test Users. Only Test Users can return a "confirmed" response.
Once your app is tested in sandbox and ready to present to VA stakeholders for production access, you may schedule a demo with the team by emailing a...@va.gov. For more information please visit: https://developer.va.gov/go-live
Note that this is different from the previous "Veteran Verification API", which required that an OAuth flow be completed by your application in order to obtain a token on behalf of each Veteran.
