Greetings, Moto Guzzi friends. Here’s the report from Saturday’s lunch, written by Larry Echols (and lightly edited by me).

“It was (a) wild start to the morning. We woke up to quite the chill – a brisk 39 degrees and pouring rain, which, I must admit, was enough to make both myself and another fellow rider swap our two-wheelers for the comfort of four wheels. My Jetta TDI got a rare outing for a Guzzi event!

Despite the initial damp spirits, a dedicated group of seven of us eventually converged at Marro’s Italian restaurant in Kenbridge, Virginia. Marro’s didn't disappoint; the food was absolutely delicious, the conversations flowed effortlessly, and the camaraderie, as always, was top-notch.

We had a great mix of rides and riders. John Howard brought his sleek V100 Aviazione Navale, Mark Franges arrived on his ever-reliable V85, and Bob Corfield proudly rode in on his classic 1983 1000 SP – a real beauty! Joey Klingman joined us on his BMW 1200, and Curtis Tyndall brought some extra flair with his Apprilla Tuono 660. Lannis Selz, like me, opted for his 'cage' – a Ford Festiva this time around.

By the time we were wrapping up lunch, wouldn't you know it, the weather decided to cooperate! The temperature had climbed to a much more pleasant 53 degrees, and the sun was finally shining. It almost made us wish we'd been able to enjoy a proper ride!

But honestly, Michael, you were genuinely missed by everyone. Your absence was definitely felt, especially at the table. In fact, Lannis went above and beyond to honor you – he ordered the eggplant Parmesan, a dish he'd never tried before, specifically because he knows how much you enjoy it! He reported back that it was absolutely delicious, and I think he might just be a convert now, thanks to your influence. It was a really sweet gesture and a testament to how much we value your presence.

We spent a good while catching up and planning for future rides and gatherings. Everyone's already buzzing about next month's lunch. Keep those wheels turning, and we'll catch up very soon.

Warmly,

Larry Echols"
