Greetings, fellow motorcyclists. The May 2024 Central Virginia Moto Guzzi Lunch will take place on Saturday, 5/18/2024, at 12:30pm. This month we’ll travel east to sample the cuisine at Bravo Italian Grill, 1012 W. Virginia Ave., Crewe, VA 23930. The phone number at Bravo is
(434) 538-0008. If you need to contact me, my email address is
mjon...@yahoo.com and my cellphone is
(434)-333-8333, though I’m decidedly prone to ignoring it.
In his monthly Guzzi lunch invitations, Ron used to say something like “all brands are welcome” and that we’ll meet “rain or shine, two wheels or four.” Three wheelers are also welcome, of course. The current prognostication suggests a possibility of showers on Saturday, but I’m kind of in the mood for a ride in the rain, so that won’t stop me. I hope to see you there!
On a very serious note: if you haven’t heard, Ron passed away on Thursday. His obituary can be read here:
https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/madison-heights-va/ronald-komoroski-11809041. It seems that he was the Virginia MGNOC representative for 42 years! He was a help and a blessing to many of us. In addition to coordinating monthly lunches and organizing annual rallies, he worked on people’s bikes, was a source for used parts, provided lots of free advice and encouragement, and all kinds of other things. He will be greatly missed!
Alice has scheduled his “celebration of life” service to coincide with June’s Central Virginia Guzzi Lunch. The service will take place at 2pm in Madison Heights, VA, so we’ll have the monthly lunch at noon somewhere in Madison Heights or across the river in Lynchburg. We encourage you to come to the lunch and then join us afterword to commemorate Ron’s life. Since motorcycles were very important to Ron, Alice asks as to ride our bikes to the service. The more bikes there are in the parking lot, the happier Ron would be. 😊
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday,
Mike
