Va Guzzisti,
Well this month 'ole Ma Nature over compensated for the good weather
we've had in June & July. Friday night weather underground had a
100% chance of rain totaling 1 1/4" inches for Saturday in Buena Vista.
By Saturday morning this was reduced to 80% totaling 1/2". There was a
steady moderate rain at my house when the time to head out rolled
around Saturday morning, so, I weenied-out & drove the 'pup. I
bought some food for lunch at the Food Lion in Madison Heights &
rolled on to Buena Vista. Pulling up to the double-decker, I saw a table
full of people...it turned out they were a family having a lunch just
like we were. I walked on past to where Bob Corfield had parked his
bike near one of the tables further back.
The rain fell steadily while Bob & I ate our lunches, caught up
& he took me on a "guided tour" of his gorgeous TT850. He already
has over 11K miles on the bike & LOVES it. I thought my V7III had
an impressive "light show" w/all the electronic gee-haw indicators on
the speedo face, but the TT puts it to shame! All in all a VERY cool
motorcycle!
So, at least I didn't lunch alone, & we had one intrepid Guzzisti
ride his bike in spite of Ma Nature.....Oh & Bob calls "weenie" on
all y'all, LOL I got an email saying his ride home was only wet until
he got over the mountains, and that the roads were pretty much dry by
the time he got close to home.
My new knee install is scheduled for early Sept., so I'll be out of
action for the Sept. & possibly Oct. lunches depending on how the
recovery/rehab goes. Watch you email for a Sept. host/location if/when
something comes together.
Ride safe-stay healthy,
Ron
