Guzzisti,
Last week I took the V7 out & rode for the first time since I got
sick in November last year. I expected to be rusty, & I knew my
reflexes would be slow, unfortunately it was worse than I anticipated,
adding up to being very uncomfortable on the bike, especially in
traffic. I cut my planned ride back to about 30 miles, thankful to put
the bike back in the garage, "rubber legged" when I got off. I'll be
taking it out again, trying to build up some miles working on shaking
off the rust & building confidence. As with everything else in my
life since the diagnosis , "One day at a time"
So, I drove the Nissan P'up down to Mimmo's Saturday. Alice rode
shotgun, We got to Charlotte Court House a little early & rode
around to see what there was to see...verdict? not much! We headed in
to Mimmo's about 12:20, ordered drinks & waited for more
lunch attendees to show up....and waited. Nope, no one else appeared, so
the two of us had lunch at the end of a table set for 8. Unfortunately,
Mimmo's is on a path we've seen at other restaurants since Covid,
cutting corners where ever they can. Alice asked if the mushrooms were
fresh or canned, they were canned. Paying good money in a restaurant,
Alice expects fresh veggis on a veggi sub (and on a pizza). I ordered
my favorite red clam sauce (served on spaghetti at Mimmos). I'm sorry to
say it was the worst I've ever had. The sauce was pink, the clams
mushy. Not a good experience for a $30.00+ check.
Hoping for a better lunch next month,
Ron
