Cannot sync v8/v8, depot_tools/gclient RPC 500 status code

Hello,

I am trying to compile v8 from source, but I can't even begin to clone the repo using depot_tools/gclient. I have configured gclient for https://chromium.googlesource.com/v8/v8.git and it says:

error: RPC failed; HTTP 500 curl 22 The requested URL returned error: 500

I've tried this since last night and I assumed it was a temporary error, I even tried using an older version of depot_tools from 2 weeks ago to no avail. I then tried to clone from the Git—which worked, but I needed to install the dependencies, and it 500 at that too
