Yes, I am aware, but the documentation itself suggests to start by posting here.
Before you start working on a larger V8 contribution, you should get in touch with us first through the V8 contributor mailing list so we can help out and possibly guide you. Coordinating up front makes it much easier to avoid frustration later on.

Sorry, missed that.
From my point of view, the best way to start with V8 is to play around "hello world" at https://v8.dev/docs/embed to find out the basics. Then, https://github.com/thlorenz/v8-perf/blob/master/README.md will give you some links to find out how V8 works internally and https://v8.dev/docs will explain some workflows to use.
