Hi,
I just downloaded your whiteboard.jar v0.0.4 and am testing it with
Spark 2.5.8 on Windows XP Pro SP2. I am running Openfire 3.6.0a on
Centos 5 as our IM server.
I had 3 other Spark client users install this file too, but I'm having
some weird invite issues.
If I'm IMing 1 person and invite that person to a white board share,
it will send multiple invites to everyone who has this jar installed,
over and over again. Not just one share to one person, but it will ask
3-4 times for everyone who has the software installed.

This also happens for the editor too.

Another thing, two of my users claimed the whiteboard.jar was "Invalid
or corrupt"
This was downloaded from http://www.version2software.com/v2whiteboard.html

Hello,
That sounds very odd. How are you sending an invite? Are you clicking
on the whiteboard icon on the chat window or from the context (right-
click) menu option on your buddy list?

Thanks,
Ryan

We haven't heard of the file becoming corrupt before. Do you know what
OS/browser they are using?

I'll have a chat session open with one of my testers (also using Spark
2.5.8), then I'll click the whiteboard icon on the chat window.
Note: in addition to the whiteboard, I also have Red5 and editor
plugins installed.
We are all using Win XP SP2. I have seen the corrupt file error
message from Firefox 3.0.3.
Also, just as an experiment, if I tried to open the jar with Winrar,
it "unjar"'s it fine.

BTW, my testers REALLY REALLY want to start using the whiteboard in
production. Once we moved to Openfire and Spark clients, our internal
communication and collaboration has taken off and I am trying to
extend the collaboration with these tools. Tons of positive feedback,
except the little nuisances above.

Thank you for the additional information. We're happy to hear that
Spark/Openfire is working well for you and that you're anxious to use
the whiteboard. A couple of thoughts/questions:

1. Have you seen this problem when the Red5 plugin wasn't installed?
2. In your original post you said you were seeing the same problem
with the editor plugin, but the editor plugin doesn't have an invite
feature like the whiteboard plugin does. Maybe I misunderstood your
post?
3. Are you using ldap or Openfire's shared group feature to populate
your users rosters?

1. I installed Red5, whiteboard and editor all together and restarted
the spark client.
2. When I have an IM client session open with someone, there's a
"Share an editor" button, which when pressed will ask me if I want to
invite everyone who has this plugin installed, just like whiteboard.
Also, within our buddy list, if I right click one user, I do have a
choice to "Shared Editor".

3. We are using ldap (Active Directory) to populate our users roster
on Openfire.

Ok, we think we've figured out what the problem is and will start to
work on getting a fix out; there's a couple of other little issues we
need to address as well.

I'm still not sure why you're seeing the invite dialog with the editor
plugin, we'll have to do some further research on that...

Thanks!
