I know we just got back from the East Coast Strom Rally but is anyone
interested in this trip? Check out the link..
http://www.stromtrooper.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5413

I could leave on Friday at 2:00 p.m. but would have to come back
Sunday night. Without actually looking at a map, I estimate the ride
from Raleigh to be somewhere around 8 hours via I40. We would have all
day Saturday to ride the back roads in TN and mingle with other
Strommers Saturday night then head back on Sunday. I can't take off
on Friday or Monday. Friday I'm off work at 1:00 p.m.

If some other local Tribe members want to do this road trip I'm game.
Of course it will depend on the weather. We wouldn't have to worry
about it being cold, but if the forecast for that weekend calls for
rain (moderate to heavy) then it would be a bust.

I just wanted to throw it out there to see if there is any interest in
this trip since it is a Strom related event. Plus we need to show our
Tribe presence :)

Feedback please...

That sure looks like fun, but I'm going to have to pass, crud.  Something about Cherohala really works for me, and I'm looking forward to getting back up there, but that weekend is no good for me.  BTW, I was reading on one of the Deals Gap sites that the Skyway is more deadly than the dragon, because there's less traffic and EMS nearby.

Thanks Rodney, you ruined my night.  :)

Having ridden back from Tennesee I can tell you it's a good days ride
out and back. Due to time restraints I am out for this one. Work and
family stuff will not allow this trip.

Next time we go up there, I will have to show you an awesome dirt road
that I found off of the Cherohala. I was waiting to see someone on
the side of the road picking a banjo. Took me an hour to get back on
the main road. It was a hoot!

I heard some guys at the rally talking about the "Dirt Skyway". I
wonder if this is the same road?
