Lake Wheeler road to 401.
401 to Hwy 27 in Lillington.
Hwy 27 through Cameron and Carthage to Troy.
Hwy 109 in Troy to the Uwharrie.
On the return trip we can get on 15/501 outside of Carthage this hooks
up with US 1 outside of Sanford. There are plenty of places to stop
and rehydrate along the way. Kind of depends on how hot it is that
day. Right now I am thinking of two stops. One on Hwy 27 outside of
Lillington the other between Carthage and Troy. You guys can look it
over on a map and let me know what you think.
A couple of the trails look like we might be able to do. We can always
try them and if they are to rough well you only spent 5 bucks on the
day pass for the trails. The Forrest roads are mostly loose gravel and
dirt, they did not look to bad. This park also has the cleanest out-
houses i've ever used.
As far as places to eat go, there are some fast food places in Troy
and Brisco. There is a local Bbq joint outside of Troy. It must be OK
as there where a lot of cars there. There is also a Subways in Brisco
where we could pick something up and eat in the Forest picnic area.
What ever you guys feel like doing.
We took some pics that I will up load. I havent figured out how to
attach them to a post yet. So I will use the upload file option on the
home page. We plan on riding the route the weekend of the 19th so I'll
keep you posted.
