Itbares more than a passing resemblance to WargameEuropeanEscalation in both the gameplay and setting - enough to the point that if you were to ask somebody unfamiliar with either title for a comparison, chances are they'll think it's the same exact game. And sadly, it seems to be the jankier of the two; some of the unit animations seem a bit stiff, the grass textures have issues, and both the camera and framerate seem to stutter. Hopefully it gets a bit more polish and QA before release around spring next year.Edited by SgtRicko on Sep 2nd 2020 at 9:34:20 PM

The despite the resemblance to the Wargame franchise, it actually plays more like World in Conflict. You can only choose from a limited amount of units to field based off their point value: ex. if a tank costs 500 pts and the cap is 2000 pts, then you will only be able to call in 4 tanks, nothing else. Anytime a unit is lost, their point cost is gradually refunded into the total. Jets exist, but are treated like tactical aid options: you can only order them to either patrol an area or strike at a certain point, that's it.

And sadly the gameplay is more restrictive then either title: infantry are tied to their transport vehicles instead of being entirely separate entities, structures only seem to provide a cover bonus and line of sight restrictions (no ability to garrison any structures so far), and overall the units just felt less responsive.

Not much new of particular note, except that the demo version isn't a perfect representation of the final game due to being out of date by several months. Future updates will be released, such as more regiments and task forces for the British, and maybe even a proper French NATO army.

Not too much in the way of reviews unfortunately, save for a couple of smaller websites. Best one I found so far is from Cultured Vultures. They're of the opinion that while the core gameplay is decent, campaign replayability will likely be a big problem, since most of the campaign modifiers mostly focus upon increasing or decreasing the difficulty.

Hello everyone!I am Mr. Bullseye II, a small youtuber that plays all sorts of games including War Thunder.I am looking to find an active squadron or regiment to join so I do some gameplay with some mates in Tank or Air RBs. Here's my qualifications:

First a very Happy New Year to you and second, feel free to have a look at our Squadron: Joint Task Force 76. We are an international group of player, with a lot of Europeans, Americans, some South Africans and some others. We play mostly RB (all tech trees) and SqB every weekend. Some of us also enjoy Sim or AB respectively but that's not the majority of our activity. We are always open to recruit talented players or less talented ones who are willing to improve themselves. We are open minded and easy going. All we ask is a bit of maturity, respect for other players (team mates and opponents alike) and of course the capacity to communicate effectively during battle.

If you want, just go on our site, find the address of our Team Speak server (sorry, we are TS only, in case it matters to you) and come play a couple of games with us. If you like it, register on the site and just stay. If you have any question, just ask us on TS or send me a personal message here directly.

On this page of the Regiments game guide you will find control schemes for PC. It is advisable to use all keyboard shortcuts proficiently in order to run the gameplay and give orders more effectively.

That squad are a lot of fun to play. My one concern, however, is that the team will not be able to launch any decent attack aircraft while flying with this aircraft, which is sad due to the fact that the longer you live with the Po-2, the more trouble you cause your teams

The plane was originally intended to be used in short nigth raid, the gameplay of enlisted is incompatible with the plane supposed gameplay, but is still a nice collectible item and as paratroopers plane

Yeah, I can half agree with you. But the Po-2 is a very difficult aircraft at the moment.

The Po-2 is also not equipped with a machine gun, so all it can do after dropping bombs is circle around over the front lines to spot tanks, machine guns, and other important targets. If the Po-2 wants to return to its mission as an attack aircraft, it must take three times longer than a normal aircraft to return to the refueling point. lol

It is my opinion at this point that the Po-2 is considerably less capable than a standard early attack aircraft, and at this speed, no matter how technically active you are, you are going to weaken friendly CAS considerably while out on a sortie with this aircraft.

I would like to manage to use it, but it has become a useless unit except when the friendlies are overwhelmingly superior.

If the Po-2 assign least had the same other vehicle slot as a motorcycle or something else that does not occupy a friendly aircraft slot, I could always continue my personal challenge.

Hi! I am of the same opinion.

I think the bottleneck is still that it takes quite a long time to refuel. During that time, CAS against your allies will be suspended.

I find it challenging and fun that these aircraft are so fragile, but more than the personal challenge, the fact that they reduce allied air power is what keeps me from using this unit.

I think it is a perfect SQUAD for the collection.

This gamepass unlocks additional regiments for the player to use in-game, these are purely cosmetic and offer no gameplay advantage. It costs 150 robux, and provides 3 new regiments for the player to choose from.

The audio design is where Regiments is at its most inconsistent. The weapon sound effects are quite great, with deep punches for tanks lighting up their targets and artillery explosions sounding crisp and impactful.

Speaking of scale, the maps in Regiments are impressively massive, which makes frontlines porous with enemies attacking and maneuvering from unexpected directions and angles. The relatively limited sight range of recon also means you have to use them more actively and keep your eyes open to catch the enemy before their offensive goes into full swing.

The brisk 20-minute length of each phase of the campaign and the persistent elements, such as unit experience and task force upgrades, provides plenty of potential for meaningful strategic and tactical decision-making. Also, given the limited resources at your disposal and the porousness of frontlines, missions can be quite challenging and lead to tense moments and exciting counter-attacks.

Many strategy games of this type, especially historical ones like Panzer Corps 2, include either a scenario editor or a random mission generator, which gives more ways for players to create their own scenarios or give extra unpredictability. Regiments lacks this tried-and-true component to give itself a longer shelf life.

Another serious problem that creeps into and causes frustration in the Operations mode is how the game presents information. The UI is serviceable, but the game is quite inconsistent and disorganized in presenting critical information to the player.

Regiments condenses the most important info into its built-in wiki, the Regipedia, which unfortunately is an uninspired wall of text, making it difficult to sort through and find what you need. The game has a drought of tooltips to help players ease into all the information and mechanics.

The final issue, though nowhere near as problematic as the previous two, is the overall simplicity of the terrain. While it includes the usual types such as flat ground, hills, woods, and towns, some missions have objectives and descriptors that denote more challenging terrain, such as rivers, swamps, and mud. Unfortunately, most of the time it seems the game ignores these opportunities to add further variety to the terrain to make the tactical gameplay even deeper.

Squadrons are in-game associations of War Thunder players united under the same squadron name and tag. Similar to clans and guilds in other online games or MMOs, squadrons offer co-operative gameplay to teamplay oriented players, e.g. in the form of training, random games in squads, squadron battles and tournaments.

Inside and outside of a battle, squadron members are brothers in arms, that share victory and defeat with each other. As War Thunder is a team-play focused game, getting organized with old and new friends and learning how to efficiently play with each other will make a huge difference on the battlefield.

There are currently two types of squadrons in War Thunder that can be created by players: Training Squadrons and Squadrons. In general, Training Squadrons are entry-level squadrons with limited functionality and member size created for 1.000.000 Silver Lions, while regular Squadrons offer full functionality and are established with 2500 Golden Eagles.

Each squadron in War Thunder has its own statistics. The overall regimental statistics are collected from four basic parameters: the number of air vehicles destroyed, the number of ground vehicles destroyed, the number of deaths in battles and the total time spent in the game. Based on this data, your regiment will be located on the leaderboard. Squadron statistics show the status of the past two weeks.
