In this "discussion" post (call it a blog, whatever you want), I will write some of my personal thoughts about the latest release of a Softube plug that has recently been released. It is the heavy discussed "Tube Tech Classic Channel". First of let me debunk the Tube Tech Classic channel first before going to go through a deep analysis on this whole matter.
However, with the current softube gear that has been brought to the reason rack lately, it is getting to a point about "negative" Buzz all around the Propellerhead Forum Board. The most obvious point is the pricing tag. Now, to be fair... I think if you compare the prices with average Rack extensions out there right about now, and compare it with this one... the main excuse would be to call it expensive.
But as Softube explains on their youtube channel, you will be getting 3 devices in to one. And this... is the part where I feel where people would actually call this device pretty expensive to say the least.
The Tube-Tech Classic Channel is a new take on a vintage channel strip. It's a combination of three Tube-Tech classics: The industry standard CL 1B compressor, the warm "Pultec" PE 1C equalizer and its perfect companion, the midrange ME 1B equalizer.
