Hi Ruth,
I hope you’re well. I wanted to share the good news to let you know that the recommendation for your appointment just went through at City Council! Of course the item could be re-opened if they wish before the end of the meeting but that is quite rare. I think both of those courses look like good options though I agree the Public Leadership one may be more applicable. Given the courses span a year or 5 months for either would be something to consider. I’ll also add perhaps consulting
with the chair or other members of the TPA once the appointments are finalized. Maybe they’ll have suggestions on learning/education opportunities that are specifically helpful to the board’s needs/work.

I understand that there is still the decision from City Council to approve the recommendations of the Civic Appointments Committee; however, in anticipation of a favourable response, I have been considering taking a course.
I have a credit available with the Schulich Executive Education program at York University. I am thinking about taking the Masters Certificate in Public Sector leadership:

I am tending towards Public Leadership as it may be more general.
