Hello fellow UXBCers,

Thanks to everyone who was able to make our last review for Grouped: How small groups of friends are the key to influence on the social web by Paul Adams. Not everyone loved the booked but many did, and it certainly made for rich conversation and a very “social” evening. The beer and food at Bar Wellington didn’t hurt.

And now we are onto to our next book: See What I Mean: How to Use Comics to Communicate Ideas by Kevin Cheng (216 pages).

About the book:

Comics are a unique way to communicate, using both image and text to effectively demonstrate time, function, and emotion. Just as vividly as they convey the feats of superheroes, comics tell stories of your users and your products. Comics can provide your organization with an exciting and effective alternative to slogging through requirements documents and long reports. In See What I Mean, Kevin Cheng, OK/Cancel founder/cartoonist and founder of Off Panel Productions, will teach you how you can use comics as a powerful communication tool without trained illustrators.

You can read more about it at Rosenfeld Media: http://rosenfeldmedia.com/books/see-what-i-mean/. While you’re there, you can pick up a copy directly from Rosenfeld, or at Amazon.ca (http://amzn.to/WPsoUU - Kindle version only), Amazon.com (http://amzn.to/X1uoup - paperback or Kindle), or your favourite book source.

WHEN

Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30 PM

WHERE

TBD, but it will be a central downtown location and will allow us to have a bite, a beverage and some social time in addition to discussing the book.

Until then, we hope you enjoy See What I Mean. Happy reading (and viewing J)!
