Jamdeo is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to help design an innovative new Smart Ecosystem platform (Smart TV, Tablets, Smartphones, Applications). As a visionary designer you will have proven consumer design experience for desktops (OS and/or applications), and/or mobile applications (iPhone, Google) for both Smartphones & Tablets. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team collaborating with other Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, Developers and Product Management.

Primary responsibilities will include taking blue sky concepts and maturing them by exploring, prototyping, evaluating and ultimately specifying the user experience for devices and applications. A willingness to innovate, take risks, and present concepts to a seasoned room of engineers and marketing folks is critical to the success of the candidate.

As a member of the UX team, the Senior Interaction Designer is expected to demonstrate excellence in leadership, communication, collaboration, and champion the user experience. The team is focused on determining the future direction of the next generation of a new computing platform - under tight timelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• -  Champion of the user experience, and user centered design methodology

• -  Capture and distil project requirements in order to obtain user requirements and input into solution

• -  Iteratively conceptualize, explore, evaluate solutions, and support their implementation

• -  Develop user scenarios, task flows, storyboards, low & high fidelity prototypes

• -  Create and maintain detailed specifications which describe interaction flow, screen layout,and behaviour of features

• -  Conceptualize and enhance interactions and behaviors for applications as well as for core UI controls and navigation systems

• -  Ability to simulate or prototype interactions with prototyping tools is a plus (Flash)

• -  Work with developers to assess the feasibility of implementing solutions

• -  Provide continuous support and feedback to implementers of features

• -  Refactor design in order to deliver to market

  Required Qualifications

• -  A graduate of post-graduate degree in a product design related field such as; Interaction or Interface Design, Interactive Media, HCI, Industrial Design, or the equivalent experience and training in an area directly relevant to this position, is required.

• -  5 years as an interaction designer developing consumer products

• -  Excellent communication and presentation skills, from one on one meetings, to group design sessions

• -  Strategic thinking and creative problem solving

• -  Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules

• -  Comfortable working in a loosely structured organization

• -  Have the visual design skills to produce professional-quality interaction design concepts and specifications.

• -  Fluency with Fireworks, Illustrator, MS Visio and other design tools

• -  Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work with little direction

Desired

• -  Ability to Speak & Write in Mandarin

• -  Experience in designing for the 10ft experience

• -  Experience with designing for Mobile Computers / Smart Phones

• -  Experience simulating complex workflows, core UI interactions, and applications

• -  Previous hardware-software interaction design

• -  Compelling Visual Design (Rich Icons, Interface themes, 3D, Information design, etc)

• -  Experience with designing input techniques (Multi-touch, Gesture, Virtual Keyboard)

  - Usability Testing / User Research skills
