Hi everyone,

Sorry if you've already received this -- Google Groups has been acting
up and some people received this message, others (including the main
thread in Groups) haven't.

We had a good discussion of Nathan Shedroff's "Design is the Problem:
The Future of Design Must be Sustainable" at The Bedford Academy and
some of you came to Shedroff's talk at OCAD the following night. Many
thanks to Ian Hooper who -- although he couldn't attend -- posted his
notes and ideas for the group.

As usual, we chose our next book at the meeting. The next book will be
"Don't Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability, Second
Edition" by Steve Krug.

It's a fast read and among the most-cited UX books, but many have yet
to read it even though you have copies. If you're on a budget, there
are plenty of used copies available and the Toronto Public Library has
10 copies, too.

With the holidays coming soon, there has been some discussion of
postponing the December meetup, but given that Don't Make Me Think is
a quick read, some feel we should try to stick to our schedule of a
book roughly every six weeks. What do you think? (Yes, I realise I'm
making you think.)

Sounds good to me, I'm in the have-it-on-the-shelf-but-haven't-read-it
camp. This would give me the push to check it off the list.

I'm interested. Haven't looked at the book in ages.
What date(s) are we thinking of?

Just read the usability testing on the cheap chapter...

Lots to talk about there!

When?
