Information Architect / User Experience (0711-0891)

Are you an Information Architect who lives to enhance the User
Experience? If so, then the CGI Interactive group has the opportunity
for you!

Our IA team - located in Downtown Toronto - is responsible for
creating the user experience for major Telco, financial, insurance,
retail and media organizations.

We currently have an exceptional career opportunity for a senior user
experience/information architect to assist with the design of several
marketing based sites and mobile applications.

Reporting to the manager of Information Architecture, and working with
an exciting and growing team, you will be primarily accountable for
providing support to the manager, leading projects and mentoring
junior IA’s.

This unique role will utilize your full complement of skills and
experience by participating in new bid proposals, providing mentorship
to junior team members, and participation in design strategy.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5 - 10 years of UX design experience within an agency environment
• Direct experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
• Direct experience working in a CMS (cataloguing, taxonomies,
template design, task/user flows)
• Understanding of website development; with awareness of:
o Web design – HTML, CSS, JavaScript
o Portal development
o Web application development
o eCommerce development and tools
o Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

• Gathering stakeholder (user/business) requirements
• Task Analysis (User and Process)
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience in deliverable presentations
• Experience in documentation of business requirements
• Experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders from
executive to business clients
• Experience with current state usability reviews/reports
• Experience with Competitive reviews
• User Research – experience conducting:
o Contextual Interviews
o Usability testing
o Other forms of user research
• Direct experience with facilitating a large group
• Direct experience creating wireframes for both non functional and
functional requirements
• Ability to contribute to scoping IA effort, process and deliverables
for proposals and project planning

The non-technical stuff:
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to
build consensus and manage relationships
• Excellent organizational skills
• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills in a technical
environment
• Attention to detail is extremely important
• Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at the same time

Things you must Have:
• Familiar with marketing/content related projects
• Agency/Consulting experience
• Familiar with web applications/tool /functional design projects
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Excellent presentation/facilitation skills
• Proven skills of idea generation and selling of ideas
• Direct experience mentoring junior IA’s and other team members
• Direct experience leading a project

Additional consideration will be given to candidates who also possess
the following:
• Experience with content strategy/copywriting
• Experience with mobile design
