Hi UX Book Clubbers,

We're meeting to review Design for the Real World by Victor Papanek. We sold out Amazon Canada and just about every available copy in the city (and, we're told, the country) when we first announced it months ago. If you haven't got a copy, there's still time to get it and read this provocative and controversial book.

WHEN
: Tuesday, July 28 at 6:00pm

WHERE: SOCO Kitchen + Bar, 75 Lower Simcoe St. at Bremner Blvd.

RSVP at Guestlisthttp://j.mp/uxbcto25

Please be sure to RSVP so we have accurate numbers and so we can get some space on a nice patio (weather-permitting).

See you soon!

About the Book

Design for the Real World has, since its first appearance twenty-five years ago, become a classic. Translated into twenty-three languages, it is one of the world's most widely read books on design

In this edition, Victor Papanek examines the attempts by designers to combat the tawdry, the unsafe, the frivolous, the useless product, once again providing a blueprint for sensible, responsible design in this world which is deficient in resources and energy.

"The book is wonderfully alive, and full of examples to instruct, amuse or horrify. The enthusiasm and verbal exuberance of Papanek as he rips away the pretensions, hypocrisises and vices of the real world are always stimulating." — Arthur Conway, New Scientist
