The lovely Jenn Carvin will be putting together a poll for us to choose the November UX Book Club selection. In the meanwhile, let's throw out a few titles we'd be interested in reading.

Here are mine:

Content Strategy for the Web
by Kristina Halvorson

The Death and Life of Great American Cities

by Jane Jacobs

Your turn!

Hi all!

Don't forget that we have the Google spreadsheet as well with all of
the books that have already been suggested! (Roz, I've added the
suggestions in your message.) Here's the link to the spreadsheet
again:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AuGuoXUO2mfwdHg5WFo0REIzR0wyWjFrcC1HOWRDeFE&hl=en

I'll create the poll this week-end to give everyone a chance to
suggest any new books. Didn't we agree that we'd read a practical
book one month and then a theory/fun book the next? If so, November
would be a practical book and I'll only put those in the poll.

Thanks!
Jenn

Definitely! I set it up so that everyone can contribute. Let me know if you run into issues.

The book is Designing Gestural Interfaces: Touchscreens and Interactive Devices by Dan Saffer

http://www.amazon.com/Designing-Gestural-Interfaces-Touchscreens-Interactive/dp/0596518390

We will be meeting the first week in December.  I might have something up my sleeve, so I promise to follow up with official details within the next day or so!

Please sign me up for this event. I've been to a demo for Microsoft
Surface last year at Schematic. There were also a number of speakers
talking about it. I'll try to dig up my notes. The founder of
Schematic did a lot of gestural interaction research when he designed
the graphics in the film Minority Report.

This site's registration widget has so many motion cues that make it
informative along with interesting interaction that it has me asking
how could this same feedback and interactive interest be controlled
through gesture?

I'll bring screen shots made into a storyboard with some notes.
