Good morning everyone!
After receiving Jessica's spunky email about the start of school, I was thinking of something I could post to the group that might be beneficial. Is anyone using SMARTboards in their library or technology lessons? I have a few that I like to use for how fiction and non-fiction are arranged. I'm trying to upload them in the Files section of our Google Group now. If you are using the SMARTboard, would you like to share your lessons? I think it would be great to see what other people in the library world are doing with this interactive technology.
Lastly, I would like to share two super cool websites I was just introduced to by some of my friends on Twitter.
-The first is called Storybird,
http://storybird.com/. It is a website where you can create a story based on some artists' drawings that are already there. Fun! And great for impromptu writing.
-The second is a online typing website called TypingWeb,
http://www.typingweb.com/. My teachers are fed up with the current typing software that we have so this is a great new thing for them to use for free. It has some ads but is pretty clean.
-(If you are looking for other interactive tools to use with your kids, you can check out my library's webpage too:
http://www.newlondon.k12.wi.us/readfield/lmc.cfm. It is viewed best in Firefox. And remember, it's a work in progress; I'm trying to work within CMS to get it to look similar to what we created in Advanced Design.)
I hope everyone is having a great September and that soon we will be on to more lessons than just introducing the library! :)
