Dear Members, Partners and Allies,

Warm greetings from the Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET).

UWONET is pleased to announce the 6th National Women’s Week (NWW), which will take place from 1st November to 4th December, 2025, under the theme Harnessing the Digital Age for Gender Equality in Uganda”. The platform aims to showcase progress, share experiences, reflect on persistent barriers, and strengthen synergies for collective action and a unified voice towards advancing Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE).

The National Women’s Week remains a flagship platform for the women’s movement in Uganda to reflect, celebrate, and collectively advocate for progress on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE).

This year’s commemoration takes on special significance as the world marks 30 years of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA+30), 25th anniversary of UNSCR 1325, Ugandan Constitution @30, and commencement of National Development Plan IV among others, a moment that necessitates critical reflection on global and national progress towards gender equality.

The 6th NWW 2025 will dedicate special focus to profiling Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs) their contributions, innovations, and impact in advancing women’s rights and gender equality across Uganda. We invite you to share stories, achievements, and reflections that highlight:

  1. The change your organization is most proud of in advancing women’s rights;
  2. How your work has contributed to gender equality and empowerment; and
  3. Creative innovations your organization has used to reach women and girls in diverse contexts.

These stories will be featured across UWONET’s social media platforms and other communication channels throughout the Women's Week as part of a collective celebration of the women’s movement’s strength, resilience, and innovation. Attached is a profiling template to guide your submission. We kindly request that you share the names and contact details of the staff who will be working with UWONET throughout this process.

We look forward to your participation in making the 6th National Women’s Week, a vibrant celebration of solidarity, reflection, and renewed commitment to gender equality in the digital age.
