Greetings from the Uganda Women's Network (UWONET) Secretariat.
We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity under the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) Project, implemented by the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development (MGLSD) in partnership with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) and supported by the World Bank.
The Work Placement/Apprenticeship Program aims to support women entrepreneurs by providing access to skills training and mentorship in high-demand careers, including:
- Tourism and hospitality
- Food processing
- Commercial farming
- Tailoring and fashion design
- Welding and metal fabrication
- Electrical and electronics
- ICT and digital media
- Manufacturing and construction
- Creative arts and more
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is open to:
✔️ Women entrepreneurs
✔️ Business partners in enterprises where women hold at least 51% ownership
✔️ Employees of women-owned enterprises
✔️ Refugee women entrepreneurs
Key Details:
📌 Fully funded training under the GROW Project – no application fees required
📌 Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis
📌 Open to micro and small businesses with an annual revenue of UGX 5M – 100M
📌 Application deadline: 17th April 2025, 11:00 AM
