Over the past years, Sympatico has gained National Rank... but let's not
kid ourselves. The reason isn't because of the "high quality" service,
nor it's exemplary performance and decision making by management. xDSL
technology has been an International development over the past 3 years,
and Canada Wide, as compared to the number of xDSL companies operating
Monopoly Free in the US, Sympatico is merely little Johnny in the
schoolyard. Little Johnny may or may not be from a prestigious
family, but Ma Bell is only really human, and bound to err from time to
time. Companies like Bell aren’t about progress, they are about
exploitation. It is sad, that so many people respect such a leviathan,
because really, they are afraid of big Mother.
- Let us not forget the Bell Canada Strike of 1998,
the season that would be ICE STORM 2.
With raging flames licking from an old oil drum just accross the street
from relatively
spotless 150 Hotel de Ville in Hull, Quebec, backed by the hundreds of
angry chanting voices; Bell was losing a great deal of respect from it
very own for laying off workers and hiring new people through Agencies
started by Bell Executives to get fatter and richer. These well fed
upper crusties and at also blue and gold top brass at BCE gave little
care, letting it go on and on, finally placating their enraged employees
with even higher pensions, and salaries knowing full well, that they
would be gone soon, and a new era of lack of responsibility on the part
of employers (as started by the Liberal Government), to contract through
HR startups would be ushered in.
Not only does do Bell Canada Sympatico’s HR agencies shave off over HALF
of what they would pay their employees proper, at Sympatico, there is
NOOOO Job security. Anjura Technology services is one of the most
deplorable fat cat organizations to fit this description, but I don't
work for them. I work for Calian, but they are nothing short of
deplorable either.
Calian for example, unannounced gave all it's employees a whopping 35
cent raise 2 weeks ago. Coincidentally a letter came to my mailbox from
Calian stating that employee stock purchase plan was now in place, and
gladly they would take my money to make themselves more profitable... to
continue this glut of misplaced dishonesty, raping my wallet, and
stealing from my coworkers children's mouths.
Clearly there is a need to address the issues of the day.
Our whole country is now flooded by similar BAD Employer decisions such
as contracting through unethical HR Companies... Look at Quantum
Management Services, who have the contract for 1 800 O CANADA, (a
Liberal initiative) who when I asked about job security in my
interview... laughed at me. Not only that… I was fired for
discriminatory reasons… anyone who takes a look at my ROE would tell me
I have a case!
If you want to start fixing problems with the Brain Drain, Canada, you
can start with that restoring ethics to upper management. I am not
talking about political correctness.
Job security is at an all time HIGH RISK, lest one be fortunate to know
someone with an IN at a Major corporate institution such as Alcatel, or
Nortel, and entering the “high tech” world is even more difficult,
unless you have a degree from the University of Beijing. I’ve sat at a
registration desk at a Career Event at Ottawa’s Congress Center. I know
what high tech companies are looking for.
Bell AND Sympatico are evil right down to the core, although, I will
admit wholeheartedly, Bell has the country by the balls -- pants down,
with the best technology for internet access available today. xDSL is
far superior in terms of it's consistent speeds and access, and security
than Cable could ever hope for.
Not only has Bell strategically capped the speed at half it's capacity,
it plans to guzzel more dough out of your pockets as soon as the
opportunity cost threshold of 1 meg service is reached. Just wait until
VDSL comes out… it’ll blow your mind!!!
Companies like Nortel are wise to avoid future mistakes as designing
such a device as the 1 meg modem. Alcatel is clearly the choice for
technology that doesn't limit progress.
Very lastly, about the high-tech industry… People are so behind.
Progress is stunted everywhere. We think right now that it’s about E
this and E that. It’s about Global Communication my friends. Respect it.
You be the judge. Remember this. Back to Ma. Does your Grandma still
have a rotary dial phone? She has been paying 3.45 a month for that
piece of junk for the last Forty years... (just over 2000 bucks) A clear
indication that Bell is unethical, has been, and always will be, until
YOU say something.
