The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs in conjunction with the College of Education will host a workshop on the Department of Education’s Request for Proposals for “Improving Teacher Quality State Grants”
This workshop will take place on Thursday, August 29th from 2:30-4 pm in Rm 3 in the Education Center.

About Teacher Quality
Teacher Quality grant projects are for the professional development of teachers in language arts, mathematics, reading, science and/or social studies. Grants can also address teachers’ use of technology, alternative assessment strategies, or innovative teaching strategies, all with the goal to strengthen and deepen teachers’ content knowledge in their academic subjects with emphasis on how deepened content knowledge impacts teaching practices and student learning.
Grants are expected to range from $25,000 to $70,000 and have a project period of 12-16 months.
A letter of Intent is required by September 20th, 2013. (this needs to be sent on your behalf by the ORSP)
The DOE submission date is Wednesday, September 23, 2013. The ORSP due date is Wednesday, September 18
