[uwebd] Senior Web Developer at Truman State University

Today seems to be the day to post your open Web Developer positions, so I'm going to join in. I posted this one back in January, but we haven't had much interest, so I'm posting again. I apologize to all of you who are not considering a career change.

Truman State University is seeking a Senior Web Developer (Web Developer II)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: use various programming and scripting languages to build complex web-based applications backed by relational databases; author complex web pages involving intricate design and/or user interaction; maintain existing codebase to include troubleshooting and adding new features; assist in project planning and web strategic planning; determine new web technologies to implement; work with internal customers to gather requirements, troubleshoot problems, and provide training and consultation.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field plus two years of progressively responsible web development experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience; proficiency with XHTML, CSS, Javascript (including libraries such as jQuery or Prototype) JSON and AJAX; ability to program using at least one server-side web programming language (additional languages a plus); proficiency in user-experience, usability, and web accessibility standards and best practices; competence with SQL queries and relational databases (such as MS SQL or MySQL); effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences; ability to work independently or as part of various diverse teams; effective organization and analytic skills, with strong problem-solving ability; and the ability to identify, evaluate and learn new technologies.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Word Press; knowledge of classic ASP/vscript; experience with responsive web design and/or mobile web development; understanding of Google analytics; and experience with social media experience in a professional capacity.
