I think a great way to get acquainted with what other institutions are doing is to take a look at their Social Media Policies. I think that Oregon State University has an outstanding social media policy/guidelines section on their website.

If you are in a hurry you should still formulate some sort of policy document and you might be able to take shortcuts by referring back to already existing policies that will apply in the social media domain such as codes of conduct and web resource usage guidelines and so forth.
