Telnet doesn't work in Netscape, either.

When trying to use a telnet link in Netscape, e.g., to use the Laurier
library catalog:

http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/catalogues/cataloghelp/login/laurier.html

Netscape comes up with an "Unable to launce application" error.

Hi Tim,

There are two Netscape releases on Waterloo Polaris, Navigator and
Communicator.

One we have set up as the default, and it launches TELNET as expected.

The other is not set up as the default, and it did not allow us to
preset the TELNET or other applications... that's partially why it
was not set as the default.

This particular story has an amusing aspect: the very page you mentioned
begins with an italicized line with a link to another page that
specifically explains how to fix this very problem.

So you can either use the default Netscape, or follow those instructions
to get the other Netscape to work as expected.
