for investors by speculating in a variety of financial instruments. They
operate 24 hours/day in most major financial markets around the world,
trading and investing in a wide variety of instruments including futures and
forward contracts, securities, options, swaps and other derivative products.
The company uses sophisticated proprietary computer systems to analyze and
forecast market behaviour. Employing nearly 50 professional and
administrative staff in Bermuda, they offer a unique opportunity to the
right individual interested in the challenges of global finance and cutting
edge systems technology on one of the most beautiful Islands in the world.
They require a UNIX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to support the ongoing functioning
of their Sun/Solaris, Unix, Sybase, Winnt, X-Windows, C++, PC, Rational
Rose, X-Motif, Real Time computing environment. It is expected that the
candidate will have strong administration experience in a Unix environment,
preferably on a Sun platform, ideally under the Solaris operating system.
Our Client utilizes the most recent technology in all depts of the co. They
manage a global voice and data network of 150 Sun workstations/servers and
130 PC workstations/servers.
Administer network of 100+ Sun unix workstations and servers. Configure and
install new machines, Perform Sun upgrades, administer NIS+ and NFS,
implement h/w and s/w RAID solutions, develop shell script utilities for
admin duties. Administer print servers and network of 20 printers, perform
system performance tuning and optimization, administer legato networker
robotic tape backup system. Solaris to NT connectivity using PC-NFS and
Exceed, Administer Firewall-1 servers, install and administer commercial and
proprietary s/w utilities, compilers and licensing, support Sybase DBA's
system requirements, currently 1/2 Terabyte of data.
Portable candidates with outside interests which lend themselves to Bermuda
are the best fits for this exceptionally challenging and rewarding role.
Compensation is in $U.S. Currency and is TAX FREE (in the range of $50000 to
$80000).
