Complex numbers: phase symbol

Thank you Anthony and John for your help. I definitely can use your
suggestions.

I have a question though. Some books use the following notation to
denote the phase of a complex number Z.

/_____

Unlike when using \angle, the letter Z lies INSIDE the 'angle'. Of
course it looks nicer than it does above (in ascii characters.) Any idea
how they do that?
