VOLUNTEER RESEARCH ASSISTANTS NEEDED - O'NEILL CHILD LAB

Do you want to gain valuable research experience in a child research laboratory? I am currently seeking to immediately fill at least 2 volunteer positions in my laboratory, the UW Centre for Child Studies. Interested students are invited to submit a resume and transcript by email to myself and my laboratory Project Manager, Mare Appleby. Decisions will be made quickly and so students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. All students will be interviewed. Students with strong academic records, excellent organizational abilities, and who display a serious interest in research will be given priority. As the positions will involve interacting with the public, a mature, outgoing manner is also a plus. A commitment of at least 10 hours a week is mandatory.

In these positions, students will largely be helping with the recruitment of parents at community events and locations for the Canadian Early Childhood Language Project. Some of these events take place on weekends, and so students should be prepared to work part of their hours on the weekend (in the summer term).

These positions begin as volunteer positions. If a student is successful in their duties as a volunteer, then the position may convert to a paid position in the future. Given that the project is ongoing for the next year, there is also the possibility that the position can continue into the Fall and/or Winter term.

More information about this project and other projects in my lab can be found at: www.childstudies.uwaterloo.ca.

Interested students should submit their resume and transcript to BOTH:

Dr. Daniela O'Neill at don...@uwaterloo.ca
Mare Appleby at mapp...@watarts.uwaterloo.ca

When your materials are received, you will be contacted by Mare Appleby for an interview. Review of applications will begin as soon as they are received and continue until the positions are filled.
