Hi,

I am the instructor for CS775 and I would like to request the creation
of a newsgroup for the course (uw.cs.cs775). It should be available for
both on and off campus. It only lasts for this spring term.

It looks like a uw.cs.cs775 newsgroup currently exists, but is not
carried by Google groups. You should be able to subscribe to the
group using your news reading software and post a welcome message.

ISG provides a tutorial on accessing UW newsgroups from off campus:

uw.cs.cs775 is present on news.execulink.com (actually giganews),
and not present on Google Groups. GG seems to have a policy
against creating course newsgroups. At least that's how I
interpret the fact that new course groups don't show up on GG
and other new groups do.
