grading schedule, attendance: READ THIS!

Grading: 40% final, 30% homeworks, 20% midterm, 10% final group report.

The 10% for the final report is divided into:
7.5% written report
2.5% presentation

Attendance is required on 3 out of five project presentations to receive
full score on the final report. Projects are presented in class on Nov.
24, 26, 28, and Dec 1. Projects are also presented in your tutorials on
Nov 25 and 26. If you only attend two presentations (we will take up
attendance carefully) 33% of your personal mark on the final report is
deducted, if you attend one, 66% is deducted and if you are not present
on any 100% percent is deducted. No excuses (e.g., interviews) are
valid except valid (signed) medical reason, since you can choose to miss
any two occasions you want.

Recall that there is a bonus for class and tutorial participation. It
can be either 1.5 or 3 bonus percentage points on top of everything
else. My guess is that about 10 students qualify for the 3 point bonus
and another 10 for the 1.5 bonus. If you are interested and think you
deserve the bonus, please talk to me after class. You should also talk
to your TA in your tutorial to be sure that we evaluate you for the
bonus. To qulaify for the bonus you need to have spoken up both in class
and in the tutorial on a number of occasions.
