will this be done for the grad environment as well, eg,
mail.math.uwaterloo.ca, or should i just nuke anything with a microsoft
attachment?

this might be an excellent opportunity to suggest that people (real
people) should not send out attachments as microsoft executables. aside
from being (IMHO, no flamewars:-) ethically ill-advised to send out a memo
as an MS Word document, it seems likely that more and more users will
simply configure procmail to /dev/null any such emails.
